How To Find Us

Dart Music Festival (DMF) is held in May each year and based in the charming town of Dartmouth in South Devon situated on the banks of the River Dart very close to the beautiful South Devon Coast.

The dates for 2010 are 7th, 8th and 9th May which is the Spring Bank Holiday week so you could make a week of it!

Why is it special? Easy, the range of music, the unique setting and the atmosphere all combine to make this the best ?smallish? festival in the country. People travel from all around the world to get there so here is a plan for you to do the same and join them. Oh, and most of the music is FREE!

Getting to Dartmouth

How to fit it all in

With so much variety and lots of overlapping of acts an official DMF Programme is a vital accessory. They'll be on sale from this site immediately they're printed (£3.00 inc p&p) or cost £2.00 from the TIC or from shops around the town once you are here.

The programme shows day by day which band or act is appearing, when and where. Proceeds from programmes helps fund the DMF.

The great thing about Dartmouth is that because it is quite small you are often able to fit several performances in by careful planning in advance, and without having to use the car. This is usually best done in one of the many pubs or hotels! For the larger distances, and to avoid swimming, both road and water taxis are available to help get you from venue to venue.

Atmosphere

Dartmouth?s position, miles from any motorway, the atmosphere is quite unique. Next to water (river and sea) but without the beach. A certain kind of calm always pervades the place. You feel safe, not threatened in any way. There are usually lots of children, but well behaved. There are also lots of older people, sometimes not so well behaved but it all takes place in a friendly, relaxed, holiday type of atmosphere.

Make the most of your visit

Once in Dartmouth most people want to have a good look around and get to know the place a bit. Take care, once you do this most people fall in love with it and either keep coming back or end up moving here, so beware!

There are two fortifications at the mouth of the river Dart. The Kingswear side?
