A message from our new chairman Robin Foale

Put the dates in your diary – Dart Music Festival will be on the 11th, 12th and 13th May 2018! While we’re busy working on the line-up for next year here are a few words from Robin Foale, new Chairman of the Festival…

I feel very proud and privileged to have now been formally voted in as the new Chair for the Festival. I love the Festival, and am totally committed to ensuring its continued success over the coming years. Music has been my passion all my life, and the wide variety of free music available at the festival is what makes it so enjoyable, unique and special.

Thanks to everyone for your support…

The festival cannot survive or be successful without the help of so so many people – our sponsors, our volunteers, our collectors, our businesses, our residents and our visitors. Thank you to each and every one of you – we really appreciate it!

Thanks to the committee…

The Festival committee is an outstanding group of people, and work incredibly hard to run the Festival every year. I would like to personally thank them for all of their hard work. Many of the committee, including Pam Braakenburg who has chaired the committee for the last 10 years, are moving on this year. We thank them for their incredible contribution to the Festival, and look forward to seeing them at next year’s Festival!

What’s to come…

We are already working hard on the line up for the 2018 Festival – look out for more details of the acts heading to town on the website in the coming weeks. Keep the dates free in your diaries: 11th, 12th and 13th May 2018. We are also planning some wonderful fundraising nights and you’ll be the first to hear all the details in future newsletters! It costs in excess of £70,000 to run the free Festival every year, and we need to raise this every year. Do keep checking the website www.dartmusicfestival.co.uk to get all the information you’ll need about the Festival.

Finally, a plea for help…

With so many changes to the committee this year, I am extending a plea here for your help please. We rely on volunteers to give their expertise either by joining the committee itself, or advising/contributing in different ways. If you would like to get involved, I would be delighted to hear from you at [email protected] and I can tell you more about it. We could particularly do with some help if you are experienced in Operations, Health and Safety, and related areas, although experience of all kinds would be most welcome and would make a big difference.

Many thanks again for all of your support, and look out for further updates coming soon!

Robin
