Soul

The Soul Strutters are a staple of the South-West music scene, having become one of the most sought-after bands for private and public events.

As of 2022, the collective have been performing together for 10 years across the country. Fronted by lead singer and bassist Eric-Mylod Okafo, the four professional musicians share a love of all things Groove, Disco, Funk, Soul and R&B.

They are often tipped as the busiest band around, having gained regular residencies in top bars and restaurants in the city for a decade, as well as performing countless weddings and high-profile corporate parties.

The 4-piece, consisting of Eric, Jack Baldus on keys and vocals, James Arbery on guitar and vocals and Barney Sage on drums are regarded as high-octane, super-tight and guarantee to get people dancing with their infectious grooves and musicianship.

Formed at last-minute in October 2012 for a cocktail function, The Soul Strutters gelled immediately after performing an impromptu last-minute event at one of Britain’s top cocktail bars, The Milk Thistle.

From then on, the band were playing the circuit of live music venues every weekend around the Bristol and surrounding area to the present day, solely through word of mouth. The group was founded on a mutual love and respect for the music they grew up on and have always wanted to perform, and from the sheer smiles on their faces from start to finish, it’s clear that the passion and enjoyment radiates through to the audience.

Unlike many wedding and corporate function bands, the Soul Strutters formed absolutely organically, with the single intention of jamming together for fun.

With a professional attitude towards all bookings, you can be assured that the Soul Strutters will surpass your requirements, and put on a great show for your event, bringing all of their enthusiasm and passion to your stage. Whether it is a small intimate pub gig, a background entertainment in a restaurant, a live music venue or a wedding, it won’t be one that your guests will forget, and you’ll struggle to find a live performance tighter than The Strutters!
