Formed in 2016 at the Royal College of Music, ensemble Convivio share a passion for uncovering and promoting unusual and little-known gems from the repertoire of baroque chamber works. Having met at RCM, Convivio’s members, Katie Cowling – Recorder/Oboe, Catriona McDermid- Baroque Bassoon and Johan Löfving – Theorbo, played together regularly before forming the ensemble. Their venues range from St Pauls Covent Garden, St George’s Hanover Square, to mission churches in the Bolivian jungle! Convivio have performed all around the country in venues such as Hampton Court Royal Chapel, Handel House, St John’s Boxmoor and also St Marys Guildford, as part of Guildford International Music Festival. Upcoming engagements include Totnes Early Music Society and Shropshire Music Trust. Each member of the ensemble is passionate about education and community work, and as a group they have given workshops and masterclasses for the Musician’s Company and Princess Helena College in Hertfordshire.
