Gozer Goodspeed & The Neon Gamblers
Ever since a battered old acoustic guitar washed up on the banks of a river near him after a rainstorm when he was just a teen, Gozer Goodspeed has been addicted to playing music. After his first gig as a very young man, the venue-holder gifted him a hat in lieu of payment. Twenty years down the line and many hundreds of gigs later, much has changed – but his style remains the same: honest, direct, playful and supremely energetic. And he still loves a good hat too…
Playing his potent blend of deeply original blues-folk, Gozer Goodspeed is a permanent fixture on the West country live scene in the UK, and has developed an ever-growing reputation for his raucous, foot-stomping live shows, which utilise live-looping to make maximum use of his unique guitar skills. Averaging between 60 and 75 gigs a year, Gozer is never happier than when he’s onstage, and he has quickly become a regular feature on the local festival circuit.
Gozer was signed to a Brighton-based record label in 2021 called Lights and Lines, and his album for them ‘Ghosts of the Future and Past’ was very well received and garnered a fair amount of praise! One of the tracks, ‘Rebuilt and Remade’ was nominated for a FATEA award this past January (Song of the Year).
This year sees him stepping far outside the Westcountry and playing gigs across the country.
