Joanna Cooke has a voice that mesmerises whenever it is heard.
From live performances in intimate local venues to recordings on tracks played across the world her versatility and soul shine through Joanna’s musical pathway included hearing records at home by blues masters Howling Wolf and Muddy Waters, performance singing in school and talent shows, music studies and early song writing, followed by a music degree. Along the way, she drew inspiration from the sublime voices of soul and jazz giants Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Ella Fizgerald and Bessie Smith.
