ESPERANTO FLAMENCO AND LATIN GUITAR
An exciting new duo featuring Mark Barnwell along with guitarist Jon Boyes.
They provide an exciting sound, combining elements of Flamenco and Latin guitar music, with harmonised runs and flamboyant improvisation. Their setlist comprises a combination of Flamenco/Latin standards, some improvisation and a few contemporary numbers given the Spanish treatment, including Hotel California.
Mark says: “It’s such great fun to play with Jon – we both know enough about Flamenco music to say ‘hey, let’s do a Farruca today’ and have some fun with the playing. I particularly like the fact that we are both rhythm and lead players so we can alternate parts, and sometimes harmonise lines together.”
