Red Butler

If you like your blues with a measure of guitar-fuelled blustery rock and a dash of soul, make sure you check out Red Butler.

Formed in 2012, this Brighton based award-winning band released their second album ‘Nothing To Lose’ in November 2016. A more rock oriented approach than that of their debut album, ‘Freedom Bound’, the concept of the album is about moving forward in life, striving to success against the odds or the fact that life is for real and not a dress rehearsal. Influences include SRV, Free, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Gary Clarke Jnr and artists such as Royal Blood and Vintage Trouble.

The power and sensitivity of their music has seen them win national awards including third place in the Best Blues Band category at the British Blues Awards 2016. Lead guitarist and backing vocalist Alex Butler was also runner up in the Young Artist category at the same awards. Red Butler also represented the UK at the European Blues Challenge in Italy last year, having won the UK Blues Challenge in 2015.
